Benefits of batch size reduction

Transfer batch and production batch, in practice

Thanks to the split of production batch in two transfer batches, production on machine M2 can start as soon as first transfer batch is completed and without waiting for the whole production batch to be done on M1.

Production goes on on each machine.

When production is done on M1, the second transfer batch is moved near machine M2.

Once the first half production batch is done on M2, it is moved downstream and the second half batch is started.
